Work continued during a groundbreaking ceremony Monday for Gloria Hicks Elementary School.
Gloria Hicks Elementary, currently being constructed at the corner of McArdle Road and Carroll Lane, will replace Central Park Elementary and consolidate students from the former Central Park and Lexington Elementary schools.  
 
The new Gloria Hicks Elementary School is expected to be complete for the 2010-2011 school year.

TEXAS PUBLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
MARCH 8-12, 2010
 

“Building Leaders..Today They Learn Tomorrow They Lead” is the theme for Texas Public Schools Week March 8th through March 12th.  We would like to take this opportunity to invite all parents to come help us in celebrating this year’s theme and to participate in the activities that will be taking place during this special week. (Please see attachment provided for listing of grade level activity.)

     
 
     As part of the weeklong festivities, Friday, March 12th, weather permitting, we have planned a family picnic on the school grounds.  The picnic will begin at the following times: 
K-5th grades (11:30 am-12:30 pm)
                                                            PK am (10:30 am-11:30 am)
                                                                                PK pm (12:00 pm-1:00 pm)
     To ensure all preparations are made for this special day, ALL  parents will need to complete the information below and return form to their child’s teacher no later than Wednesday, March 10, 2010. 
 
    Reminder:  Please remember to sign in at the front office prior to visiting the classrooms.
 
     We will also be holding Parent Informational Meetings on Tuesday, March 9th and Thursday, March 11th.  Both meetings will begin at 6:00 pm and be held in the school cafeteria.  Please make plans to attend.
 
We hope to see you during Texas Public Schools Week!

Welcome to Lexington Elementary School.  At Lexington Elementary our mission is to create a climate of excellence, creativity, and security in which a student can be motivated to succeed.  We believe that high academic, social, and personal standards for students will build pride and sense of community. Our staff continues to encourage you to be a part of your child's educational experience by visiting the campus and meeting the individuals who work with your child throughout the year.  The more involved you are with your child's education, the more we can work together to help open the doors for your child's future.
